Another awesome historical paranormal romance by Hendrix. This is the second in her Immortal Brotherhood (and I liked it even better than the first). The cover is sexy, and the Vikings inside are even yummier. This is Steinarr the Lion and Matilda's journey to discovering each other. Steinarr is hot, and Matilda (AKA Marian) is a wonderful free-spirit. They are a perfect fit together, which make the read fun. When I had first read the back cover, I was pensive about this being just another Robin Hood story, but it's not at all. Hendrix put out a really cool story with a complete twist on the legend. I'm keeping my copy!

Well I really thought I would like this book since I absolutely loved the first book in the series, [book:Immortal Warrior|3294485]. But I can honestly say this one bored me to tears! It's based on the Robin Hood fairy tale with Steinarr, the immortal outlaw / lion shifter playing Robin Hood's part. He is robbing from the rich just to keep himself in food and supplies. Steinarr is an immortal viking warrior cursed to live every night as a lion and every day as a man. Unfortunately for this shifter lover, his shifts are never discussed, he just goes off for the night and returns a man the next morning....boring!

I didn't like Marion though she's a strong character, I just couldn't connect with her. I also wasn't very fond of her brother Robert who was whiny and let Marion tell him what to do. What a wuss. And Steinarr is very arrogant and not likeable either. All in all, just a sad disappointment. I hope the next one [book:Immortal Champion|8105565] returns to the greatness of the first book and doesn't follow in this ones footsteps.
