This is the first book I've read in this series. I wanted to read it because it has the 4th of July theme. It didn't matter that I hadn't read the other books as it was easy to get right into the flare of the event hosted by Liv the event planner for this holiday celebration town. Liv the M/C is the type of person you feel you would like to be friends with. Her partner Ted is equally likable. Whiskey is Liv's Westie Terrier which is a joy to everyone in town. The Independence Day festivities of fireworks, and a Revolutionary War reenactment includes a ghost, a body and an eccentric former child actor who goes missing. I will continue with this series and will read the first book Foul Play at the Fair this fall.
