A very enjoyable continuation of the Hamilton series. For a usually shy miss, Mara boldly pursued Foster. Sure, it's a little improbable, but their love affair certainly made for entertaining reading. Mara's intuitive abilities gave her character extra depth, and Foster's impossible situation with a wife in name only made him a very sympathetic hero. Even his angry and disillusioned wife, Rose, had a fascinating enough backstory that I couldn't help but feel at least some compassion for her. When was the last time you connected with an antagonist? It's a mark of solid writing and deft character development. Good story. 4 stars.
