An excellent and relatively short essay of both Nixon and Kennedy by Mr. Schlesinger just prior to the 1960 Presidential election. He addresses the three areas of personality, policy, and Party in an attempt to show what he felt were substantial differences between these men and their possible way of governing the nation. Since both men ultimately became President, it is a fascinating look back to determine how well the author presented his case and knowing now how both men wound up leading the nation. It also allows one to reflect on present day politics.
