This is one of the best books i have ever read. It's a compelling story and it doesn't become boring or drags at any point. The author gives just the right amount of details, about the country and the people without making you feel overwhelmed with details. Greatly written.

Incredible story. Have read it twice. Hosseini has a gift for drawing you into a story and making you wish for more when it's ended.

This is a very well written book about a painfully current topic.

"For you, a thousand times over"...

This book is an incredibly poignant tale of guilt and redemption. Beautifully written. Get the kleenex out when reading this one for sure!

It was a bestseller for a good reason. It's a poignantly written story about two of our deepest relationships: that with our best friends and with our fathers.

I recommend this book, for the content and the characters. It was good to start and at the end, but somewhere in the middle, it was a little long-winded. I did cry at the end though. Very well formed storyline and the characters were entertaining. Touching story.

Absolutely wonderful... until the ending anyway! I felt the ending was pretty unbelieveable and kind of gratuitious, yet the story until that point was captivating and extremely well written. I really loved this book.

I could not put the book down. A great book full of surprises. It kept me on the edge and tense until the very last page. I am going to read the rest of the books on this author. It is sad to say that this book is based on true story.

The rather disgusting thing that happens towards the end of the book apparently still happens in Pashtun areas.
