Certain tops, spout tops, on Klean Kanteen bottles are being recalled by the company. Check the above link for information.

The affected top is Sport Top 2.0. - and only those that are the shiny finish - not the matte finish. Basically, the "pop-up" bit of the sport top could possible crack if dropped - creating a possible safety risk if you then drink from the cracked top. The company is making a replacement model - the only difference is using a higher density plastic for the pop-up thingy.

If you have the recall top (I did)  there is a form on kleankanteen.com that you can fill out, they will send a pre-paid package to return the top, and then send a replacement. The replacements are scheduled to be available on May 15th.

Yeah.  I will probably send ours back, but I have some issue with something being "dangerous to drink from after you drop it and crack it" being a cause for a recall.  really--if I drop it on its head I would not be surprised if it cracked and it seems dumb to drink from it at that point.
