Elizabeth Camden is just about the only "inspirational" author I read for the following reasons: Really interesting plots. Her characters are nuanced and well developed. The heroines are independent women with careers. The heroines fall in love based on the hero's actions and character, not instant, mindless lust. The historical details are well integrated into the plot. The settings(both location and time period) are unusual, for instance this one is set in Baltimore during the early Industrial era. One of the secondary characters in this book is the hero of a later book, Against the Tide, which I think is even better than this book. 3.5 stars.
