#3 DI Tom Thorne British police procedural. I liked this one better than the second in the series, but not quite as much as the first. Thorne's character is developing, the characters of those around him are fleshing out a bit more as the Serious Crimes Group is once again on the trail of a sicko serial killer who is brutally raping and killing, of all things, rapists. The clues, as always, are in the details, and it wasn't too hard to sort out the bad guy despite a few obvious red herrings. Still, a thoroughly enjoyable entry in the series that brings the people and places in it to life.

Another terrfic entry in the Tom Thorne series. What an imagination this author has. Spot on storyline and characterizations and the writing is so great. I'm on to the next one. Will be very sad when I'm up to date with the series and will have to wait for a new one like everybody else. Very hughly recommend.

Very well written. The opening was enough to get me hooked. There really was no stopping, all the way to the end. I will look for his other books.

Took me about three weeks to finish this book. Just not a real page-turner until the last 50 or so pages. Great premise for a psychological thriller, but I just didn't feel that the characters, aside from the protagonist, Thorne, were well developed, and the story felt a little hollow. I'll try at least one more by this author in the hopes that this one was just a fluke.
