The Legend of Bagger Vance was a fun read. If it had been any longer, I don't think I would have enjoyed it as much, but it gets right to the point, bringing out the mysticism and real struggle involved in golf or any other sport, and then extending the metaphysical message out to encompass all of life. The narration itself is good but nothing special- this book is really about the message.

A very good, story of the comeback of a former golf champion who finds his way back to golf, and life, with the help of a mysterious mentor and caddie, Bagger Vance.

If you've seen the movie, you must read the book.

Along comes another golfer who will compete. Bagger Vance is a troubled local war hero. Once a champion, who comes with his mentor and caddie. It is Vance who holds the secret of the Authentic Swing. During the year 1931, two golf legends meet for a 36-hole showdown. They are joined by a troubled local war hero who has the Authentic Swing. This is an inspirational story with religious undertones.

A very good book. I haven't seen the movie, but I really enjoyed this story. Kind of inspiring for people like me who try to play golf.

Very different from the movie. All the characters are there but there's no love story, the focus is all on the golf tournament and who Bagger really is.
