In many ways, this is a continuation of Rosenfelt's 'DOGTRIPPING' (2013). It is highly amusing and the continuing saga of living with 25 to 40 large, four-pawed friends -- all sharing the same house. David tells the unique stories of his hairy friends and how they rule the roost. They wake him at about 5:30 am with a cacophony of howling for breakfast.
David explains that they have a California king bed because that is the largest one sold. He enumerates the sleeping locale of each sleepy pooch and which one shares his pillow. Thinking about the word-pictures David creates about the controlled mayhem is quite amusing -- and often laugh-out-loud funny.
David and Debbie are not quite normal because they have to buy a new vacuum cleaner every 6-months to keep the fur in check. It is also dangerous to allow the couple around pet shelters because they can't seem to avoid taking home a couple from each location. It is fortunate that David is such a successful book writer because we know here all his money goes -- to buy more dog food and pay vet bills (he's made several independently wealthy).
This book, like 'DAYTRIPPING,' is a feel-good book. If you are feeling a bit depressed, read this book and you will know that your life is much saner than David Rosenfelt -- and that's a good thing.
