I am looking for a book by Lori Foster.  It is futuristic and has "protectors" who can't have relationships or be involved with anyone.  I am thinking that this is an older book, buy I'm not sure. Does anyone know what this could be?

 I think it may be My Man Michael, Book 4 of the Fighter Series. It was a very weird departure in the middle of that contemporary series...I only read it once, quite a long time ago so don't remember the details, but this sounds like the one.

Yup!  that was it.  Pretty good, but I think I would have liked a better ending.

I never felt happy with that book...weird ending, weird premise in the middle of the series. I like fantasy but....this one just didn't work for me. But I'm glad I was able to point you in the right direction so you could find that book.
