This book was very good, and I enjoyed reading it. I was surprised that it was written in the third person since I thought it would be Jim Lovell's memories, but they address that at the end in the epilogue. He explains that since the efforts to return Apollo 13 to Earth involved a large number of people, they felt an omniscient narrative would be more appropriate. At any rate, the story itself is so compelling, and this book takes you on the nuts-and-bolts story of what was happening backstage while the drama played out internationally. Fascinating.
