Silver City is a dangerous little town. A series of explosions in the mines and businesses is causing much fear and unrest, but now strange notes are appearing on doors demanding cash for protection. Nathaniel Kirkland, a deputy marshall, is working undercover to figure out who is behinds these crimes. He has help from Rebekah, who was burned in an earlier mysterious fire. This is an exciting and sometimes tense read that I enjoyed very much.
