Okay, I bought this yesterday and I'm DYING to read it, but I'm soooo overloaded with work for the next couple days plus I have to finish Kissing Sin (Riley Jensen) before I start.  Even though I want to put everything aside..LOL

Anybody bought and started yet???  If so, no spoilers, but how is it?

And might I also add the new SOOKIE comes out this coming Tuesday, OH GOD I hope it's as good as the others.  I hate when all of a sudden you get a bad apple amongs a great series, especially when you've waited forever for it.

I liked the teaser first chapter on her web site, so I have high hopes for this Sookie....

I got it from the library yesteday after work and stayed up until 3:30 this morning and had to be up 3 hours later for work.

I didn't expect to receive it that fast.  I reserved it awhile back but was really surprised that it was there yesterday.

I'm going to have to wait on these, but it's going to be really really hard especially for the Sookie book.  Luckily I start rotations in 2 weeks, so I'm not going to have much time to sulk :)

I got LA on Tuesday. I am reading it but it's going slow for me. It seems like I have NO time whatsoever and when I do I'm too tired to see the words on the page. At this rate I'll be done sometime at the end of May! LOL

I'm not too excited about it being hardcover (I'm sorry if this has previously been discussed).  All my other BDB books are paperback, and I'm not going to buy a mismatched hardcover.  I guess I'll have to get it from the library and wait for it to come in paperback to buy it, but what a pain!

Alright so I told myself no. I told myself I would not support an author that switches to hard cover 3/4 the way through a series.

But I am weak...took my 40% off coupon from Borders and bought it on Saturday. Good thing I had the weekend to read because  I COULD NOT put it down and it is long. Just finished it a minute or two ago.

No spoilers but it is very good and maybe even worth the higher price although I still do not agree with the switch to hardcover. So much better then the last one which I thought was the weakest. There are a lot of side of stories but I was satisfied with the time spent on Rhevenge and I loved Ehlena.

I loved it but I am not sure why it is a BDB because Rehvenge is NOT a member of the brotherhood. It was really long and worth the price, okay I didn't pay for it but my SIL did... I just stole her copy ;) Anyone know who the next book is going to be about? I was thinking that Payne would be the first female in the brotherhood but I have NO idea who she would be paired with. Maybe Quhinn (sp?)?

ETA: It is not the authors who chose to become Hard Cover it is the publishers.

I believe the next book will be John and Hex's book based on how this book ended.  I believe that paynes character and role will be introduced more in the next book before she gets one completely to herself.

unfortunatley that means the next book will have Lash in it....whom i cant stand lol..However I cant wait to see how Ward tells their story....its making me crazy trying to figure out hex's past history

I have been discouraged by her last couple books.  I just got LA and hope it is as everyone says it is!!  I don't have an issue with it being HC as I have collected the whole series in HC.  Usually after the first 2-4 books in a series I get bored.  The author seems to get off the track that made the series so good.   I personally can't wait to get the last Drake Sisters book by Christine Feehan.  That series stayed true and she isn't going to drag it on past the sisters!

I finally finished this book.  I loved the other books in this series but this one just felt all wrong. Since when does J.R. Ward take 3 paragraphs to describe a safe being opened and one sentence to describe a sex scene? As I was reading through I felt GUILTY for wanting more sex! Seriously, maybe if she would have spent a little less time telling me how unhappy Lash was or what he was wearing or what John Matthew was wearing for that matter, she could have put a little oomph into the sex scenes.

The list of things I liked about this book is MUCH shorter than my dislikes.

I liked that the Blay/Quinn tension is still there, I'm starting to think Ward is afraid to go there though and that is unfortunate because after the vanilla that  was Rhev and Ehlena, some spice would be nice.

I like Payne! HOPEFULLY Ward will keep her character interesting. Maybe she'll end up sandwiched between Quinn and Blay. Hotness.

There was not an Omega apperance which was fortunate because if we HAVE to deal with Lash and his wardrobe hysteria we should not have to be tortured by descriptions of the Omega molesting his creations.

The Mary Tyler Moore loving angel. Please Please Please give me more! Ward has managed to make everyone else loose their personalities except for this angel. Maybe she just didn't care enough to try to destroy my budding love for him, maybe she didn't find his wardrobe as interesting. I'm not sure why he got to still be funny and quirky but I'm so thankful.

For all the designer clothing plugs she's doing in this book, I really hope she was smart enough to get paid. If that's the case it would explain a lot and I might be willing to forgive her. I really hope that her next book makes me forget about this one because honestly what keeps running through my head is, SELLOUT!

I got this book last week and still haven't started it!!     I didn't like the last few books and have no great need to rush into reading this one.  I can't figure out why I still buy them.  I have collected the books in HC since the beginning and just feel that I have to keep adding as they come out.  STUPID  Now after reading the review from Hope I am not sure I want to waste my time.  I agree about the Omega.  I usually have been skipping over about the Lessers.  I like to be entertained; not bored.   I must have been skipping more than I thought because I don't know Quin, Blay, or any angels.  I do know John and wish she would have handled Tor better.  That whole story line just made me upset.  I guess I haven't been that interested since Butch's book.

As with the other books in this series I devoured it.  I really enjoyed the storyline between Wrath and Beth as well as the parallelisms of the two kings' stories.  I am hoping that Ward will continue re-exploring the previous love storylines from all of the first 6 books through the end of the story.  I wonder if she will continue with the order of the first six, will it be Rhage and Mary during John and Xhex's story....personally it seems that Zsadist and Bella would be better....Bella's abduction by the Lessers and Xhex's abduction by Lash seems a better fit to me.  But then again I thought John's story would be last as the whole series started with Darius' death.

Those were the good points, but as with Lover Enshrined, I reached the end of the book feeling as if something were missing and of course it was with the main love storyline.  Hard to image getting that feeling after 500+ pages.  I really and truly enjoyed reading all the details about the other characters but still seem to need more of the main love story.  Oh well, this will not prevent me from continuing to buy and read the rest of the series, even though the money grubbing publishers switched the books to hardcover.

I was pleased to get more insight to Lassiter's character...not sure how I like or dislike him....guess I'll have to wait and see with the new series.

:( Someone remind me not to come back to read this thread because I don't want to know what happens in the rest of the books yet LOL. I am just starting the second one.

I just finished LA - picked it up and couldn't put it down, just like all the others.  I may be a bit of a soft touch, but I loved this one, because I loved the Rhevenge story (it was much more interesting than I expected) and I also loved how much focus she gave to some of the other characters in the book.  I'm very anxious for the next book, though because where JM ends up in this one just makes me sad....  I don't want to give anything away, but I definitely thought it was worth the price (I even went back and reread some of my favorite parts after I finished it, which is always a good sign - something I didn't do this time around with the new Sookie book).
