This book was just one sex scene after another (& not badly written at all). Unfortunately, the hero is super-macho to the point of being obnoxious; his prediliction for talking during sex and anal sex really
annoyed me to distraction. The heroine is so weak-willed that I wanted to slap her! She can't say no to sex with him, even though he left her 5 years ago, & she actually blames herself! Girl, get a backbone! These two are the macho king and the drama queen of all time. The sex scenes are the only redeeming quality of this book.

Slade has waited 5 years for Jessie to turn 21, and that day has arrived. But he's afraid his sexual preferences will scare her. It turns out sex isn't their problem, but his job is.
I'm a fan of strong men, but Slade was over-the-top arrogant. He took the 'I know what's best" attitude to the extreme. After coming back into Jessie's life, he continued to lie and manipulate her. Definitely a man who is sexy in a book, but I have no desire to meet one like him in real life. The sex is hot and the romance has its sweet moments, so I didn't completely dislike it.

Leigh gets men on all kinds of levels, the kind of men like the BDB who aren't afraid to be MEN, to express themselves in ways that make women uncomfortable. There are some great scenes between Slade and his friends Jazz and Zack, guys he grew up with in foster care. Overall I really liked this one. Available in e-book and print (Samhain Publishing).

Leigh loves the "coming of age/long lost love" story line, and I admit it's one of my favorites also. Some would say Slade is an arrogant SOB, but he came across as a guy who knew early on what he wanted and for decency's sake, waited until she was of age before he went after her. The emotional stakes are high in this book, too, and it was fun to see a strong guy fall really hard.

This is the first Lora Leigh Book I've finished and all I can say is that

-If you're a Lora Leigh Fan you'll like this one.

-If you're not a fan, but want to give her another chance, this won't change your mind.

-If youre new to Lora Leigh, this maybe a decent starting place, though it seemed a bit tamer than some of her other books.

In general my issue will LL's books,( this one included) is that most of her hero's are too Alpha, too arrogant, and most often too much in need of protecting the "Little Woman" to the extent that lying to the "loves of their lives" isn't an issue( all the while claiming a sense of honor)

AS for Loving Lies, What story there was, was pretty good, though typical of Ms. Leigh as were the secondary character and pretty much the whole plot. Not a whole lot of new here, but at least in my opinion, one of her better stories. So despite not being her biggest fan, I have to say that Im definitely going to be reading the other Men of Summer books.
I'll keep trying her other series as well though I'm not quite sure how many I'll actually finish.

i have read lots of her books and this one was just horrible. I can understand the guy waiting till she is older, but then he leaves and doesn't come back for 5 years! Plus he he married someone else and had a kid! The girl is an idiot for waiting for him. He lies and is just an ASS. I couldn't even finish this book. I don't know how it even got printed. I really struggled with the whole story line, what woman would waste 5 years of your life on someone that left you for someone else.

As with all the Lora Leigh books, this one was awesome! I love her books - and this one is no different. The first in a new series, it'll be great when she finishes it.
