This book is right up there with the rest of her work; fast paced great mystery with plenty of twists and turns. There are a lot of characters to keep straight but Ms. Staub helps the reader do so effortlessly. The plot keeps trucking right along providing plenty of suspense, just enough romance and a few gasps along the way.

A highly recommended read!

Warning: Love WCS, but if you are going thru infertility issues --This may not be the book for you! I only made it thru about 2 chapters before I had to put it down --hit a little too close to home.

Overview: At 39, Peyton Somerset has an enviable life, with a thriving career and a beautiful Manhattan apartment. And now she is going to have the one thing she wants the most, a baby. Peyton's biological clock went off just as her fiance took off, leaving her alone at the altar, so she's going it alone. Already she's making plans for the little one inside her... buying the layette, daydreaming and worrying over the littliest things. that's only natural. All mothers do. But Peyton has every reason to worry. In fact, she has every reason to be terrified....As the months pass, Peyton can't help feeling that something is terribly wrong. She's certain that someone has been in her apartment, that she is being followed, that someone is watching her. Maybe it's just hormonal paronia that makes her distrust everyone around her. Or maybe her maternal instincts are dead on. maybe there's someone close who doesn't think she should give birth at all. Someone who would do anything to have a baby....ANYTHING....

Babies - some who want them and some who don't. What happens when the desperate are contacted by an "angel" who can help them have the infants they are dreaming of? Lots of suspense and action.

My mother really enjoyed this book. It was a quick read for her and a change of pace from all of the John Grisham books she usually reads. The action was fact-paced, not like Grisham, and leaves you hanging until the end, definitely NOT like Grisham.
