Bok has some insights, and a moral clarity that it's true a surprising number of people lack on the topic of lying. (I'm including myself here.) But her prose is mushy and repetitive, and she makes a lot of societal claims-- about how particular kinds of lies lead to somewhat distant bad consequences-- that are plausible but could occasionally use a little proof.
