Maybe not fair to rate I book I didn't finish, but here goes. I stopped reading Picoult years ago but started this only because of the beekeeping. That was done very well, says this beekeeper. However, I absolutely could not stand most of the characters, esp. the beekeeper. I disliked her, and others, so much that I just didn't care who killed whom. As usual, characters were so far over the top that the storyline was just so unbelievable. I promised myself I'd never read a Picoult book again.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I picked it up because it was written by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan. There are a ton of facts about bees and making honey, some of which could have been left out. Some things seem wildly unbelievable, but I hate to go into too much detail. I was disappointed in how the book ended, again not really realistic. I read it for a book club and it isn't a keeper for me.

Mad Honey byJodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan is challenging to review because the topic is part of the reveal of the book's mystery. This book will elicit strong emotions because of the topic, the age of the individuals, and the fact that the topic is not clear from the description. However, this review is of the characters, the story, and how it's told. The ending of the book is disappointing as the intensity and the education presented is lacking in that solution. It does, however, leave me thinking, and I still look forward what Jodi Picoult will tackle next.

It's a love story, a murder mystery, a family drama, and a courtroom battle in one book. You need to read this book in order to get a full picture so I'll say no more as I would be giving away the story. The plot line is interesting and will hold your interest throughout the rest of the book. The characters are believable and very real and well drawn out. Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan are excellent writers and tell a good story. I don't fully agree with the premise of the book but found it an interesting story.
