Would a deck of Tarot Cards be eligible for Media Mail? I am mailing a set to a friend and didnt want to send them Media if they weren't allowed! Thanks!

This is the description of media mail on the USPS website:

Media Mail™ Small and large packages and thick envelopes can be sent using Media Mail. Contents are limited to books, manuscripts, sound recordings, recorded videotapes, and computer-readable media (not blank). Informally called "Book Rate," Media Mail cannot contain advertising, except eligible books may contain incidental announcements of books. Media Mail is usually less expensive than Parcel Post.

According to that info, I'd say Tarot Cards are not allowed.  Sorry!

It is allowed. I sent them media mail. You can't eat them. You have to read them...right? In fact I found the listing on here.

We've been through this topic before--cards are not elgible for Media Mail and if inspected will be charged the difference in postage.

Well I guess you'll find out if they get there w/o any extra postage required.   They do randomly open MM packages to make sure they are actually allowed MM materials.  That might be an item that's questionable and it would depend on who inspected it if by chance it was inspected. I had a postal clerk insist to me that audiobooks were not allowed to go MM.

Not only are tarot cards not eligible for Media Mail, but they are also not eligible to be listed on PBS.  Not saying that they weren't listed, I'm sure they were!  But they are not permitted.  There are many items that carry ISBN's that are not permitted.

Just ran across this question on the PO site while browsing for something else, and they specifically mention trading and other types of cards as being ineligible for media mail rates. We really need to get a sticky note at the top for this kind of stuff!!!
