I couldn't even get halfway through this book. The premise took a left turn with the heroine & 4 other women making a choice only an idiot would make. Everything that follows requires that the reader overlook that piece of idiocy. That was the end of my suspension of disbelief.

This is not an author that I often read. I enjoyed the story though never understood how it really related to the title.
If you like heroines who can kick butt, but still fall in love, then this is the story for you!

This was one of the first books I read by this author. I enjoyed the plot, and the characters were OK, but there was something odd to me about the dialogue -- it seemed stilted and awkward. It kept distracting me from the story, even though I really wanted to know how the story came out in the end.

I really enjoyed this book and so did my husband! I haven't read a lot of Ms. Michael's books, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a "new" author to explore.

I love Fern Michaels' books however, this was the absolute worst book of hers. I really didn't know if it was a romance, a revenge or a personal triumph story. To me, the book had all but not really any of them. In the end, I thought "huh?"

I will definitely read reviews on her next book before I order it.

Good Book..

I enjoy almost every romance novel I read whether it is a Harlequin or Nora Robert's latest, a contemporary, paranormal, suspense, or historical. I've never read this author before and I hated this book! There is a big group of women bent on revenge but you can't really tell them apart as characters except for the lead and her best friend. Also, they are mean! I don't think divorce justifies torture against innocent men. You know it's a problem in a story when you like the hero's dog better than the hero. Other than the fact that his dad was a great cook, I don't see what was appealing about him. I didn't think this book was funny, suspenseful or sexy.

Not worth the time!

If you like Fern Michaels' "Sisterhood" series you'll like this book. It bears some similarity to the "Sisterhood" series in that the main character Samantha (Sam) Rainford and her friends enroll in boot camp on top of Pine Mountain. This time, the mountain is run by Kollar "Pappy" Havapopulas. Sam and all the members of her team complete the rigorous training only to have Sam "wash out". The team sticks together, though, and goes on to find Sam's and the other "Rainford wives'" ex-husband to seek justice for what he did to them. This doesn't give Sam the satisfaction she had originally hoped for and she returns to Pine Mountain to tie up loose ends with Pappy. There's more to the story but I don't want to give it all away so you've have to read it to find out the rest.

At first I wasn't bowled over by this book. It starts out too much like the Sisterhood series; women working together to right an injustice. But the more I got into it, the more I like it as it becomes more of a love story rather than a tale of revenge.
