The story is told from the perspective of Mary Tudor, daughter of Henry VIII, and eventually known as "Bloody Mary" once she was Queen of England. Fictional account of her early years and treatment of herself and her mother, Katherine of Aragon, by Henry VIII after he divorced in favour of Anne Boleyn. The book is excellent reading, and portrays Mary in a sympathetic light through out, as she was treated horribly by her father during the time period covered in the story. (34 year old paperback, bit yellow but very good reading!)
