The American Girl books are wonderful stories that bring to life some part of American history or one with a strong message . This one is about a young girl, Samantha, who has become an orphan and lives with her rich grandmother. She befriends a girl who is not rich, and even though they are not alike at all, they become best friends. Great for girls just getting into chapter books.
