This is the first book in the 5 book Acadia series. What a great partnership in the authors Oke, and Bunn! Great authors in their own rights. This series has everything-lost family, lost loves, war, separation, hate, 3 countries:US, Canada, and England. The historyk is awesome and alive! A time when people were torn apart by ancient hatreds. Hatreds only God could heal.

Book 1 of 3 in the Song of Acadia series. This is the first book by Oke that I have read. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to finishing this series to read others by her.
I do not know very much about Canadian history so I can't say how accurate the historical background is. I do know about the God, the Bible, and prayer. This book was entertaining and very inspirational.

If you like the Love comes softly serious by Janette Oke then you will like this story. I love period stories. About two young women their lives shadowed by nations that are in conflict, but they begin a friendship that will propel them on a journey from which they will never turn back.

The first book in Janette Oke and T. Davis Bunn's Song of Acadia series. The whole series is amazing! This book chronicles the meeting and friendship of two women--one of British heritage and the other of French heritage shortly before the British expulsion of the French from Acadia. A really cool look into history from a Christian fiction perspective.
