Neptune's 50th daughter, Minnow, is taunted by her accomplished sisters and sometimes called useless because all she seems to do is ask a lot of questions. While Minnow begins to accept the label of "useless" she continues to follow her natural curiosity and search for answers. Upon finding answers her joy is to share them with the enthralled sea creatures. One sister continues to call her useless but her father declares her a "daring explorer." The book closes with Minnow excelling at an additional, though unspoken talent--Storyteller!
I loved the pluck of this youngest mermaid and the the affirmation of asking questions, seeking answers and valuing storytelling.
