This was such a touching book to read. Definatly a Beauty and the Beast story. I came close to crying on the last page. Another keeper on my shelf.

I really enjoyed this entire series. The books take place concurrently and even though they are romantic suspense, each book has its own resolution and just adds another layer to the intrigue. Each of the books could be read on its own, but when read together they are even better. This one was my favorite of the three.

I'm a sucker for the Beauty and the Beast trope, and this one delivers in spades. Douglas is scarred and vicious-looking, while Allegra is the blind beauty who recognizes the goodness of the man beneath the rough exterior. The entire romance develops over a short period of time, but anybody who is looking for realism in a romance probably shouldn't be looking in a story about an ex-SEAL and a blind harpist getting stalked by her psychotic ex-manager.

The sheer need these two have for each other is what sells the story. Douglas has never been so accepted or wanted for himself as he is by Allegra, while he provides the tower of strength she needs to gain some independence. The suspense angle starts out well, and builds nicely throughout the story, but its resolution is slipshod and too quick. But someone looking for sensual, heartfelt escapist romance shouldn't be disappointed.

I didn't even realize this was part of a series when I read it, but don't feel like I missed much by not having read the first two books. The other couples are mentioned, but this works more than well enough as a standalone.

I thought the book was a nice boring read. Nothing really stood out and the ending made me think the author was bored too.

A wonderful, romantic and erotic story of an alpha male with a soft inner core falling for a damsel in distress. Although the story line is predictable, it is filled with emotion and intrigue. A very satisfying read. 4.75 stars
