I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters.

Widowed from an unhappy arranged marriage, Emily Wallace, The Dowager Viscountess Tuncliffe, is determined to become an independent woman. Finding her newly inherited London townhouse in desperate need of repair, she hires Duncan McAllister, a disquietingly attractive Scottish architect, to undertake renovations. She soon finds her Berkeley Square home is not the only thing that seems to be reviving under his expert ministrations....
Short, on the sweet side, about a widower with a small daughter meeting a widow from an arranged marriage whose husband had stripped away her self esteem as an artist and as a woman. Not a lot of architectural trivia, concentrates on both central characters realizing that they can still love and be loved. Very pleasant read.
