Entertaining and funny, but not for language sensitive people.

While Leonard isn't my cup of tea, this is an entertaining novel read by Robert Forster, who's delivery adds a lot to the audioplay. Especially enjoyable if you are familiar with SE Michigan geography.

Vintage Elmore Leonard. I prefer his books in audio form. Like Arliss Howard, who has read, wonderfully I must add, other Leonard books, Robert Forster's voice adds its own unique touch to the narrative. The plot has it's twists and turns and changing allegiances, all done well for this genre. It's an easy and enjoyable audiobook to listen to. Like other reviewers, I'll give it 3 stars. The audio book runs 8 hours over 6 compact discs.

While I was hoping this book would include more humor than it did, it was still a very good read. This book isn't the typical "whodunit," as the reader knows early on who committed the murders, but what draws you in is the actual storyline, the why it was done, the characters, the interactions, and the way the crime is solved. This was my first Elmore Leonard book and I'd read another without hesitation.

If listening to the audio CD, Robert Forster is perfection and I love listening to him, as he defines each character with their own voice and adds just enough inflection to make it real.
