WTF????  I just love this statement: (eye roll)

"Treat others as you would want to be treated, you don’t have to teach all these horrible concepts to them about the golden rule, do you," the parent of one eight-year old screamed at the the school board.

Heaven forbid a child learn to accept and be kind to fellow human beings!!!!

and um... if the state recognizes it then why the bleepity, bleep bleep can't it be in the public schools??????

New Jersey recognizes same-sex couples under its civil unions law, designed to give gay and lesbian couples the same rights as married couples.

Not only do I 2nd Sam's WTF, let me add that the woman of the 8 year old SCREAMED at the board. That's maturity for you.  Ya know, I gotta quit reading your links Charlie!! lol  Everytime I do, my blood starts to boil & then I get one of my hot flashes!!!   I don't know about you guys, but the words 'morally wrong' are really starting to yank my chain.  Or how about family values? Hmmmm, let's see, I personally think it is morally wrong to not accept my family values as a lesbian living in a committed relationship.  How's that?  ;-)

Ok, let me get this right.....it's NOT ok to show commited, loving gay couples and their families, but it IS ok scream prejudices at a school board?!  WTF?!  Yeah, there's someone I'm going to listen to about morals.....NOT!

God knows they will never encounter homosexual couples in their real life. <eyeball roll>

I'm all for homeschooling.  Keep the Freaks where they belong - away from the rest of society....

Mary, I have never been so pizzed off than after the last election with all the freaking hypocrites exiting the polls and saying they voted for "Family Values".  Yeah, that's right - if your "Family Values" include lying, screwing others of your own benefit and blowing the arms and legs off innocent children in an offensive war,  leaving thousands of others parentless.

Don't even freaking get me started....

Clearly, someone missed out on what the Golden Rule actually means...

The right-wingnuts would  not know family values if they stepped on them.

"When does Evesham Township or any school have a right to show to my grandchildren something I believe to be morally wrong," asked another woman."

It's comments like this that make me wonder what these people are actually afraid of.  Do they think that ignorance and intolerance is the answer?  What is the big deal with teaching children that families come in all different shapes, sizes, colors and genders?

My kids' school has what they call star of the week.  On Friday of their week, parents are invited & the children do a little presentation where they talk about their family & some of their interests and favorite things.  Last year (first grade) when my son was the star of the week, my ex, his wife and I were all visiting my son's class while he gave his presentation.  My son got nervous, and instead of saying he had a mom, a dad, a step-mom, etc.  he accidentally said he had a dad and two moms. Several of the kids giggled.  When it was time for questions,  one of the kids raised his hand and asked my son how he could have two moms.  Again, several kids snickered and laughed.  Obviously, these children need to be taught that it is possible for a child to have two moms (or dads), and it is nothing to snicker at.  It just made me wonder what kids who do have 2 moms or 2 dads have to deal with in the schools & how easy it would be to teach acceptance and avoid those problems.
