This is one of my favorite interior decorating books and one of the few I will keep on my bookshelf. The author discusses the pros and cons of various decorating choices, such as how much money to spend on a piece of furniture and what you get for the amount you choose to spend. She goes into a lot of detail about quality that almost every amateur decorating book skips over. I have taken several college classes in interior design and I think that this is one of the few books that covers the subject realistically.

I thought this would be a decorating idea book, but it's more about measuring and arranging and buying. If I were a decorator OR in the throes of home dec projects, I would find this an invaluable guide.
