Should we do a new general discussion or maybe do a genre? We haven't done a genre in a bit and I was thinking we could do Urban Fantasy.

Eh, I'm easy. I don't really read urban fantasy but I might give it a try.

I just started Music of the Spheres, and it is 424 pages.  I put this up for book club twice, but it didn't garner enough votes.  I have wanted to read it for some time, and it will fit into the fiction challenges I am doing, so will take a break for a month from the general discussion.  It will take me all month to get through that many pages.

The Stand is over 1000 pages I believe. I read it years ago.

I read American Gods by Neil Gaiman for a book group on a different site recently and have the somewhat but not really sequel Anansi Boys coming.

Maybe we could try one of the free books on the kindle market. You don't have to have a kindle you can download an app for free and basically have a free kindle.

Great idea!  I did not know that you could download a free kindle, I have one but that is pretty cool. Let me know what you decide!

I have the Kindle app for my laptop, it is a free download.  We could look at the Top 100 Free lists to see if there is anything we might all like.

I found a few candidates right on the top of the list, the list changes weekly I think.

Apocalypse Island by Mark Edward Hall

The Secret Holocaust Diaries: The Untold Story of Nonna Bannister

Abandon by Blake Crouch

So should we make a list and vote on them or just pick one and go with it.

Ok here's the voting list. It might be hard to find PBS listings for some of them if they are only Ebook form.

Goodreads usually has the ebook-onlys. I use their links when keeping my list here and it's just an ebook.

How about Firefly Beach?  It has two wishers here, but the kindle version is currently free.

After the book is chosen, how long do we have to read it?

Normally we do a month but since it's a download what do you think about two weeks.
