I absolutely loved this book. I haven't read a lot of Beverly Jenkins' books, but after reading this that may change. Night Hawk tells the story of the Preacher, Ian Vance, and Maggie Freeman. Ian is a famous bounty hunter who has lost his beloved wife to violence. Maggie is a beautiful woman who has lived a hard life and is currently in Ian's custody due to having killed a man in self defense. Although Ian knows he is honor bound to turn Maggie over to the authorities, he is tempted by Maggie's feisty spirit and sensual nature. Maggie has never met a man like Ian--tough, strong and tender. As Ian and Maggie begin to depend on each other more and more, passion flares between them. This is a tender, well-written, sensual historical romance. I absolutely loved it! There are many comedic moments in the book as well as tender and emotional. The cover is hot hot hot.

A great story. The two leads were strong, interesting characters. Maggie certainly went through a lot of trials and tribulations, but she was feisty and self-sufficient. Ian started off as a taciturn and humorless character when we first meet him, but once he falls in love with Maggie and loosens up it turns out he has a great sense of humor, besides being a prince of a guy. He's not the type to go around saying "I love you" but his actions clearly show how much he cares.
Also, this book has great plotting, the story moves right along, with lots of adventures along the way, and I couldn't put it down. In fact I had to go to work with very little sleep because I stayed up so late finishing it.
