Jennifer R. (chirey) - , reviewed OMG Pancakes!: 75 Cool Creations Your Kids Will Love on + 117 more book reviews
I thought this was a very cute book. (I was not familiar with the author's blog that this is based on.)
Every weekend the author would make pancakes for his young daughter. Mostly animals. He would photograph them and post them on his blog. As his daughter got older she requested certain things and he would attempt to make them.
Most of the pancake creations are adorable. He uses squeeze bottles and colors the batter to create the animals. As thin as they are I can't imagine they would be very good to eat but I think they are edible art.
It is not something I would do but they love their tradition and are sharing it with the world.
The crab is so cute as are many others.
For me it is more of a coffee table book than a cookbook, although he includes his pancake recipe and gives you step by step instructions on how to create each pancake. Definitely for the patient parent!
