Well I have to say I agree with everyone else. This book was so so and not anywhere near as exciting as most of Kellermans earlier work. As always Milo and Alex make a great team but there didn't see to be any suspense in this novel at all. It was too easy to figure out and personally I had NO sympathy for the girl they were trying to help. She just came across as annoying for me. It was an interesting enough read but definately something I could easily put down. I hope Kellermans next novel will be better.

Sorry to say, I didn't enjoy this book as much as a lot of his others. About halfway thru the book I wanted to put it down and start something else but I ended up finishing it anyway. I wish some of these authors would stop trying to push books out so quickly and put a bit more thought into them. I'm not giving up on Kellerman yet tho since I like Alex and Milo as a team.

I agree, this was only so-so; the title was the most exciting thing about the book, ha. The fans of Kellerman will probably tolerate this book, but it's really no big deal if you skip this particular book.

The usual ingenious complex plot. Characters well drawn, but almost too many of them to keep track of unless the book is read in only a few sessions. Need to focus to follow the plot.

That's it- I give up. This book is so boring and slow-moving that I put it down after page 100 and have given up. Dr. Alex Delaware is trying to solve a mystery that may have occurred, or may not have. Patty Bigelow's dying death-bed confession to her daughter Tanya leads Tanya back to Dr. D., who had treated her childhood OCD. However, the confession was vague, and no one knows if a crime was actually committed. Booooooring. Dr. D. and detective Milo Sturgis try to delve into the past, but at page 100, nothing had been figured out. So, it's back on the bookshelf for other Kellerman fans to enjoy. Judging by the excellent reviews this book has on Amazon, I was certainly disappointed.

As a long time fan of both Jonathan Kellerman and Alex Delaware, OBSESSION does not disappoint. As I was immersed once again into another case of past meeting present, I was reminded of how much I love these characters!
When Dr. Delaware is contacted by a former patient after her mother dies, a very strange story unfolds. The girl's mother was a "saint," a nurse who kept the E.R. running smoothly with her tenacity and talents. The fact that she died after a brief illness, and after confessing to having committed a terrible deed, leads her daughter to seek Alex's help. The fact that her mother's boss was Rick Silverman, Milo Sturgis' significant other, only adds to the creative layers of this case.
Tanya Bigelow, now nineteen, once suffered from OCD, and thanks Dr. Delaware for "curing" her. Although Alex has his doubts about the state of Tanya's condition, more stressing matters are on his mind when bodies start piling up, and the "terrible deed" and possible murder that Patty Bigelow confessed to on her deathbed is only the beginning.
OBSESSION is a must-read for all Delaware fans, and for readers who really love a good thriller/mystery. I promise, you won't be disappointed -- although you will be wondering when the next Alex Delaware novel will be published!

Another outstanding Alex Delaware novel! Kellerman's intricate development of his characters is unparalleled, and this book is no exception. He keeps you guessing right up to the end who the culprit(s) is/are. His final twist at the end caught me entirely by surprise and made me chuckle. Loved this book!
You wont want to put this series down! Mr. Kellerman has created a character we can so easily fall in love with!
Thoroughly enjoyed - Kellerman has come through again with Delaware and Sturgis.
This book dealt with so many different people it would often leave me confused. One minute they would use the first name next minute the last name. It just did not seem like an Alex book. I stuck with it since I like the series and wanted to be able to keep up with the story but it was not a favorite at all. I hope the next one is better.
I enjoy reading Jonathan Kellerman books, they are suspenseful, mysterious and entertaining. I have read probably every book Mr. Kellerman has written, unless one has slipped by me at a point. He is an author that entertains as well as enthralls the reader with his story line.
It took me a little bit to get into this book. I haven't read Kellerman before. I had to start it twice. Once I got 70 pages or so into the book I had no problem finishing it. The story line was good and not entirely predictable. The characters were tiring in only a way that real people can be. I will probably read another Kellerman book but will try something outside of the Alex Delaware series next.

Jonathan Kellerman is one of my favorite mystery writers. I really enjoy the characters in the Alex Delaware series. Obsession did not let me down. If you're looking for a good mystery, give it a try.
