Oh, how I loved this story. It had every element that pulls me in and keeps me immersed until the end. Wonderful characters, beautiful setting, heart-wrenching and yet uplifting story, words so eloquently written. On top of all that, I love stories about witches. So yes, it had everything I could ask for.
In this story we get the perspectives from 3 sisters. Each one so very different from the other. Yet there is that sisterly bond that binds them even when they are apart. These sisters learned the witchy ways but in that time and age, they dare not let anyone know that they do. When an evil force moves in and tries to stamp out every witch in New Salem, the sisters stand and fight.
I loved how the book told the sisters story but also wove in rhymes and other stories that a lot of us will find similar in fairy tales we learned as kids. I also related to each one of the sisters. They each had a piece of them I could relate to.
I have become a Harrow follower and will definitely read whatever comes next.
