I love this series. I just posted this book on PBS only because I have the hardback version as well, lol. I love this series enough to buy the paperback too just for the included bonus short in this version =) This book is the best in the series so far, but DO NOT START WITH THIS BOOK! Get "Dead witch walking" and go from there, it's worth it to go in order. Kim Harrison is one of the best authors I've ever had the pleasure of reading. You'll love the series, trust me! It's so fun, with wonderfully written characters. Also, the world she created is amazing.

This is the sixth installment in the Rachel Morgan/Hollows series. The beginning of the book grabs you in, starting up where For a Few Demons More left off. Harrison is a strong author, great at evoking emotion from her readers with the written word. The world that the series takes place in is believable, though fantastic. The characters are well developed and the story lines are, usually, very well plotted. The end of this one felt a little off though...leaving things more open than any of the previous books have. Knowing that I have to wait for months before getting my hands on the next book in the series made me like the ending even less.

I highly recommend Harrison to all that enjoy the Urban Fantasy/Dark Fiction/Romance genre. Start at the beginning of the series, though, because every book has some sort of connection to those that came before.

Not disappointing in the least! Well written, there's action, there's adrenaline, there's emotion, there's humor. It's pretty impressive to me that a bad-ass demon-fighting main character can give this reader misty eyes on occasion. I'm almost sorry that I read the hardcover - it seems like it will be forever now that I'll have to wait for the next book! And for the record: If I were needing to find a name for a young'un of my own, I'd definitely consider *Quen*!

This book was very exhilerating. The finale was, like, WOW! Rachel's story goes on to many other troubles that will leave you panting for more.

I finally finished The Outlaw Demon Wails this evening, and I must say Kim Harrison has done it again. She continues the Hollows series with unexpected plot twists and new interesting characters. This sixth installment focuses on family. Both by blood and her family of friends.

We find out about Rachels true heritage and learn more about her parents. We see more of Rachel and Ivy working through their blood balance/relationship. Which is shown in a scene where I had to put the book down, and walk away from the intensity of it (and other things going on) for a moment. There is also a possible new love interest in Rachels future when Marshall (the witch from Mackinaw Island) appears on her churchs front steps. The Elves (Ceri, Quen, and Trent) are also heavily focused on as they try to save their species.

All of The Hollows characters slip in and out of the story. Even though they are not on the front burner, their presence is shown and their support for our favorite trio is evident. Like when David stops by to lend Rachel his duster, or when Keasley comes to Rachels aid, yet again. We even learn more about the mysterious rockstar Takata!

Diving into the Ever-After was a suspensful scene, and a scary view into the world where the Demons lurk. Kim describes this run down wasteland with such detail, that I can just taste the burnt amber in the back of my throat, and feel the murky air all over. I was nervous to visit the Ever-After, and now Im excited to learn that we will be going back in the future. Of course it will be on our own terms next time!

Jenks as always lends his hysterical one liners, and witty banter with our girls and enemies. He manages to save the day once or twice, and he also has a new tenant in the church, a Gargoyle named Bis. There is still talk of Matalinas illness, and you can feel the pain every time it is mentioned. One can only hope that she will survive through the series.

I hate to give anything away, but I feel it has been out long enough that I can post this very minor spoiler. It was really refreshing when I got to the end of the book and realized that there was no sex at all. The story didnt need it to push along the plot, and it definitely wasnt time for Rachel to take that step with anyone so soon after her loss from For a Few Demons More. The story has fantastic dialogue that keeps you glued to the pages.

(I understand its not a big spoiler, but some people might be miffed about the lack of sex in the book. Yeah, Im talking about you Rachel and Ivy worshippers!)

Overall this is the best book in the series so far. I dont know how Kim will top it (Ive said that before), but I have faith that she will. The Hollows just sucks you in, and once youre there you never want to leave.

If you havent already get out there and buy the book! If you havent started this series I suggest you hop to it!

Rachel Morgan is, hands down, my favorite urban fantasy character. Her main sidekicks Ivy and Jenks have lot to do with that as well. This may be the best book in the series so far and that is saying a lot! Rachel discovers that she isn't who she thought she was and that isn't necessarily bad. She 'grows' a lot as a person in this book, too, and her character is developed even further.

If you have been reading the series, you can't miss this one! This one was hard to wait on, but well worth it.

Another nail-biting, edge of your seat, Rachel Morgan book, and I give it 4 stars! I think Rachel is really growing, in the last few books, and I really like the direction she's going- I think Rachel is starting to like herself!

These Hollows stories are interesting, but the storyline about her boyfriend was just plain sad. I don't want to re-read the book because of it.

All I have to say about this book is "Tink's tampons!".

For those of you who have read Kim Harrison, you know exactly what I mean. For those of you who have not yet had the pleasure, please locate a copy of "Dead Witch Walking" and begin reading immediately.

Have really enjoyed reading this series, actually think Bk 6 was better then book 5. I had a really hard time putting the book down... Lot of action and it ended with me waiting for the next book to see what happens...

An emotional roller coaster that kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time! Tons of action and some exciting but shocking revelations make this one my favorite book so far! I have a love/hate relationship with Rachel and her attitude in this book (especially towards Trent) is a great reminder of how you can love her one minute and want to slap her the next! She's been through a lot and still has a lot of growing up to do in my opinion but I'm not giving up on her! I don't know what the future holds for Rachel and the gang but I'm sure going to keep reading to find out...with fingers crossed that there's a happily ever after for everyone!

This is the sixth book in the Rachel Morgan series. The demon Algaliarept is supposed to be imprisoned in the Ever-After, but someone has been summoning him nightly, putting Rachel and the ones she loves at risk. Rachel joins forces with Glenn from the FIB to find out who, while Ivy investigates a mystery left over from book 5. This was a terrific read, although in some ways less satisfying to me than the earlier books. I wanted answers, and you do get a lot here---everything but the answer I wanted most! That missing answer is also connected to a plot thread I felt was kind of dropped, as though the author lost interest. Having said that, let me say that there were also a lot of things this book did better than earlier entries in the series. It's nice to have some interaction between Rachel and her actual family, in addition to the family of friends she has created. Rachel also becomes aware of how many people really care about her, which is especially nice in a series that has been full of uneasy alliances (I imagine, though, her relations with Trent Kalamack are always going to flip flop around). Rachel is growing up, and trying to leave her thrill-seeking behind her; her new method of reaching decisions is to believe if it feels right, it must be wrong. All in all, The Outlaw Demon Wails is an entertaining paranormal read which ties up some loose ends, but leaves enough hanging that I wanted to read the next book right away!
