I mailed out over 20 books on June 27th due to some deals I made. Even though I mailed them from my post office and stood right there and watched the clerk scan them, not a single one has shown up in the system yet so I haven't gotten my quick credit. Post office issue or PBS issue? |

I think this issue has been reported in one of the other forums. don't remember which one it is. |

Bren, if I am not mistaken quick credit is only possible if you use PBS postage. When using PBS postage, the moment you click MAILED, you are given your quick credit. If mailed using any other postage, you have to wait until the receiver marks the book as received to receive your credit. Scans at the PO or along the way do nothing towards giving you the quick credit. Pam |

As far as scanning goes, PBS doesn't immediately sync with PO scans. If you use tracking labels or buy postage from the PO you can enter the tracking number(s) to see the status of your shipment(s). MyUSPS is a convenient way to stay updated for every PO scanning event (can be sent to email/text), which will not show up on PBS at all unless you purchased PBS postage. You only get quick credit when using PBS postage. Soon as you mark mailed it will be in your account. |

I do use PBS postage on everything I mail. I do not get instant credit I get quick credit when the book is scanned the first time. I don't exactly understand the difference or why I get the quick credit instead of instant. I think it has something to do with having had my account on hold for over five years. |

For those who are curious, from the help docs: Why is Instant Credit disabled in my account? Instant Credit is a feature that accompanies PBS Printable Postage. If your account is in good standing, then the books you mark mailed with Printable Postage will give credit immediately. Only accounts with good records are eligible for Instant Credit. Instant Credit will be disabled if there is a problem with your sending record, such as a high outgoing "loss" rate, a record of late mailing or nonmailing, or a history of sending unpostable items (damaged books, ARCs, etc.). If you get an email telling you that Instant Credit has been disabled in your account, you will most likely already know why this is - we will have discussed your account problems with you. The email will also tell you that: While Instant Credit is disabled in your account, you can still use ALL of the other features here, including Printable Postage and PBS Delivery Confirmation with Quick Credit. ONLY Instant Credit will not be available to you. While Instant Credit is disabled in your account, marking a book mailed with Printable Postage will not give Instant Credit. The shipment will earn either Quick Credit when the package barcode is scanned by USPS and transmitted to our system or regular credit when the book is marked received If Instant Credit is disabled, you will also not receive Guaranteed Credit - so if your package is not scanned (or it is mailed late) you are not entitled to credit. In order for Instant Credit to be re-enabled in your account, you will need to improve your sending record. The parameters for this will vary according to the specific case. The email will tell you when you can ask to have your account re-assessed. At least a month will need to have passed from the time IC was disabled, and You will need to send a certain number of packages in a row that are received promptly - the email will specify how many if that is the case. When the requisite time has passed and the requisite number of packages IN A ROW have been RECEIVED PROMPTLY in your account, you can contact us using the feedback link at the top of the Contact Us page, and ask for re-assessment for eligibility to use Instant Credit. We will then re-assess and let you know if we deem you eligible (or not eligible yet). Last Edited on: 7/5/17 9:22 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I use PBS DC on all the books I send out. I mailed one on 6/29 and one on 7/3. Neither of those have been scanned ANYWHERE, according to their "details.". I did, however, receive e-mails from PBS that I had received Instant Credit immediately upon marking them mailed. Additionally, today I received a book from another member who also uses PBS-DC. When I checked the "details" on the shipment, I saw that it had never been scanned anywhere, not even when my carrier delivered it to my mailbox. There must be something going on with the transmission of DC data from USPS to PBS. Last Edited on: 7/10/17 6:01 PM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I am seeing the same thing, no information regarding scans in the "details" but if I check USPS the scans are there. |

This same problem is being addressed in another discussion forum, Questions about PaperBackSwap. Danny N (Alameda) posted this in that forum: "Update - Thank you again, Thanks, Danny, for reporting the PBS team's answer. |
