The town of Eagle's Nest is going through some upheaval. Police Chief Truman Daly is not used to so many people descending on the small town. A millionaire buried treasure somewhere in the United States. A poem he wrote was published upon his death, giving clues to the whereabouts of two million dollars. Many people believe the clues point to Eagle's Nest. Now the police are getting calls about vandalism, trespassing, and property damage. When a body of a treasure hunter is found behind a dumpster, Truman decides to help Deschutes County Sheriff's Detective Evan Bolton with the case.

Meanwhile, teenager Theodore Kerr asks for help finding his mother and baby sister who disappeared over two weeks ago. Truman's wife, FBI Special Agent Mercy Kilpatrick, begins searching for the missing mother and child, looking for clues that may point to the last place they were seen.

This is the 3rd book in the Columbia River series and the 7th book in the Mercy Kilpatrick series. I'm so happy to be back reading about Mercy, Truman, and their family and friends. I've missed them and wish the author would write faster. I loved the treasure hunting aspect of this story. It brought man strangers to town and gave us a bunch of suspects for both cases. The mysteries had a couple of good twists. I guessed part of what exactly was happening; but didn't figure out everything. My rating: 5 Stars.
