Pizza Chicken

  • 4 - skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 - small onion, chopped
  • 1 - green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 stalks - celery
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) - condensed tomato soup
  • 1 can (10.75oz) - condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 Tbsp - tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup - water
  • 1 Tbsp - dried parsley
  • 1 Tbsp - dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp - dried basil
  • 1 - bay leaf
  • - salt and pepper to taste


Place chicken, onion, bell pepper and celery in a slow cooker. In a medium bowl combine the tomato soup, cream of mushroom soup, tomato paste, water, parsley, oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Mix well and pour mixture over chicken and vegetables in slow cooker. Stir to coat and add bay leaf. Cook on Low setting for 8 hours, until chicken and vegetables are tender.

I have fixed this recipe twice and liked it both times, the second time I added 2 whole cloves garlic cut in half, and in leau of the water I used 1/2 c. dry white wine. Before serving I fished out the garlic. I served the whole dish on a platter over white rice, decorated with sprigs of parsley. Makes a pretty presentation for a very simple dish. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Elizabeth
