Michael Hrubek is not quite as insane as all the doctors seem to think. He is on a mission, and it is scary. He escapes from a mental hospital to wreak revenge on those he believes responsible for all his problems. This is a nail-biter, complete with floods, storms, and people with various reasons to capture him.

This is an earlier book of Deaver's, originally published under a pseudonym. I was surprised that he wrote other books under a different name and was not sure this one would live up to his usual standard. The plot is less complicated and the characters less developed than those novels written under his real name; in fact, I have to admit that I suspected the outcome well before I was finished with the book. However, I still enjoyed the book and would recommend it to Jeffery Deaver fans.
