A great Lori Wick novel!!! Although 700 pages, it only took me 7 days to read this book....which is fast for me. It is very true to life, covers how we as humans truly are in our struggles with sin and accountability. Highly captivating....just reading along, easy reading, and then BAM! something interesting happens that makes you cry, laugh, and just want to read more.

All dressed up in a fresh new cover, Pretense, the bestselling novel from Lori Wick is ready for a brand new generation of readers.

Marrell, a happily married army wife, adores her family, but throughout her life shes felt something missing. When she discovers that the void is spiritual, she is afraid to tell her husband. Will he understand that he cannot meet all of her needs, and that she cannot meet all of his?

Covering the lives of Marrell and her two daughters, Mackenzie and Delancey, from the 1970s to the 1990s, Pretense is a characterrich novel written from Loris heart that shows the patient love of God and the promise of His forgiveness for all who seek Him.

I can't say I have ever read a book this long (minus the bible) but this book was extremely captivating. I was entrenched. I wanted to help where help was needed, I wanted to be a part, I truly enjoyed the book, and would even consider reading it again.

My friend conned me into buying this book letting me know ahead of time it was terrific. While the plotline/climax was decent and entertaining, it took quite a long while to get there. I don't mind this book, but I wouldn't read it again unless I was sick in bed with time to kill.

Excellent and l-o-n-g. Big book--don't start unless you're planning on doing nothing else for several days. Completely captivating and very emotional.
