Leo put his dreams on hold to care for his sister Gabbie when their parents were killed in a car accident. Marie also lost her mother to breast cancer. Both occurred right around Christmas. Leo drives a cab and helps with building maintenance to make ends meet. Marie is a Princess in her small European country of Eldovia. She will eventually inherit the throne.
They meet when Gabbie sees a "Princess in need of help." Marie ends up paying Leo to be her driver for the few days she is in NY. They talk, they bond over their shared experiences of parental loss. Leo and his friend Dani both at different times compare this to a Hallmark Christmas movie and they would be correct (if Hallmark movies had bad language, kissing not only at the end, and SEX!).
This had a good beginning and end, but dragged in the middle. Enjoyable secondary characters as well and I look forward to Dani (Leo's BF and ex-cousin in law) and Max's (Marie's BF and ex-fiance) story. Both had important roles in this one and I really liked them both. They love and support their respective "bestie." Gabbie was also very likable as was Imogene (owns the bar) and Kai (master carpenter and maker of snow globes).
