I was once a big fan of the Ladies of Covington series, but the last couple of the author's books in this series had left me disappointed. So it was a delightful surprise to find myself enjoying this newest book in the series as much as I had the earlier ones. Perhaps it was that the plot resonated with me, or perhaps it was just better written than some of its predecessors -- whatever the reason, I was glad to be back in Covington with Grace, Hannah and Amelia. An enjoyable, quick read.

Although I have enjoyed all the books in the Ladies of Covington series, this one really "stepped it up" in my mind. The ladies, facing everyday life as they grow older with it's aches and pains, address some really tough situations in today's world (i.e., a son who abandons his family, a dear friend home from serving in Afghanistan attempts suicide, beloved family members finding new paths in their lives). The only thing that remains the same is change and it impacts the Ladies of Covington along with all of us. I believe there is one more book in this series....I will be sad to see it end. Sit back and enjoy your time with these timeless ladies!
