Unfortunately, the so-called "hard facts" about Wicca are anything but. It's one thing to say we don't approve of Wicca, it is another thing entirely to slander the folks who practice it and their religion.

Chalk this one up to witch hysteria and move on.

Books like this only further the ignorance about wicca. True wiccans live a life based on several principles. First is harm none. Another is to respect and love others. This book only promotes hate and ignorance. We need to learn to understand and get along with each other. I think that in the end we will be judged on what we do to each other not on the name of the god we worship.

Very little in the way of factual information. Silly book designed to scare parents. Does not represent true practitioners of Wicca. Clearly the author has done no personal research, appears to have only read other similar propaganda books/tracts and parroted the misinformation. Sad.

This book is the worst sort of manipulative scare tactic, geared towards fostering suspicion and mistrust of people who don't follow mainstream ideologies. This garbage is of the same ilk as the pamphlets warning of the hellish dangers of Dungeons and Dragons, or that Count Chocula is the cereal of the devil (Don't laugh, I've seen it in print!)

If you are a parent, and have concerns over your teen's behavior, look first to your own house. Teens rebel, it's what they do. I've known and been closely associated with people of the Wiccan path for decades. Honestly, a restless teen could hardly find anywhere better to look for answers than a tradition of love, caring, respect, non-violence, self expression, balance and honor.

Instead of this blatant propagandistic book, talk to your teen. It may not be easy to do, and if you can't quite see how to do so, look for a book to help you do that openly and lovingly, not some hyperbole-laden misinformed handbook like this. I can guarantee that if your teen IS interested in Wicca, this book will do more to alienate them and utterly violate their trust in you than it will ever do to help strengthen your relationship with your child.

It is obvious that the author has no experience with wicca. The "facts" presented aren't even close to being truth. Please don't let someone else's fears mar your own good judgement. As with many things (ie. entering the military, sprituality, college, etc) do research and listen to representatives of the topic. Wicca is nothing to "fear" or "protect" your kids against. It is not dangerous any more than christianity is dangerous. It is a belief system. Though, judging by the author, perhaps a belief system can be dangerous. Take out a book from the library about Wicca from respected author's in the field (easily found by checking reviews on amazon), see what it is really about and then judge for yourself.
