I tried, I really tried. This book has several stories in it, I could not keep up with the changes from one to another. Too confusing.

A beautifully crafted novel by a favorite auther, J. A. Jance. Although this is the fourth in the series, it is a stand-alone novel. The story is fast-paced with characters you will become involved with as you follow along day by day. I did get a little confused about the family connections but worked it all out by mid-book. The ending was superb. Actually, I really loved this novel and highly recommend it to you.

I LOVE J.A.Jance. She also answers her own email on her website. This book is a "walker family" #4 in the Walker family series. I always learn when reading her books. This mystery keeps you hooked and you won't get bored. I loved the satisfying ending too. p.s. (Queen of the Night) is an unusual cactus.

I do not agree with the "brilliant" and "masterful" review adjectives from Publishers Weekly. This book is not a typical J.A. Jance read. There are too many threads going back too far in time which influence the present-day story line. The 409 pages of this book spans just 7 days. To say the plot "drags" is understatement. This will be my last "Walker Family" series book.

This recent book just proves what a terrific author J.A. Jance is as she continues to turn out one great book after another. This one did not disappoint and kept me mesmerized from the beginning. This one will go fast, so hurry and order it.
