Okay, under the possibility of being laughed out of the Paranormal group, I have to admit that I NEVER saw Buffy or Angel when they were on TV. I have started watching back episodes of Buffy on Hulu.com to finally figure out what all the craziness is about.  I have to tell you, I'm only about 8 or 9 episodes in and I already think the Buffy/Angel tension is going to drive me insane!

I am an avid watcher of Bones, so, seeing David as Angel has my poor brain confused!  He's SO young in Buffy!  And I keep expecting him to be Booth-y not Angel-y!

I  have a question.  Can anyone who HAS watched Buffy, tell me, without any major spoilers PLEASE! if the tension stays this awful between the two or do they get over it and get to have at least a bit of a good time together???

LOL, t hanks!

It's pretty angsty all through.  Parts of season 2 and some of 3 are definitely hanky worthy, but it's sooo good.  They definitely have some sweet moments together, but Joss was definitely doing metaphors about teen life.  I can't say too much more without major spoilers, except that those two seasons are probably the best of the show and definitely should be watched!

Now, despite all the work I have due I feel tthe need to pull out my DVDs :)

I also like Bones, and I can see some of Angel in Booth, but more the way he was on later seasons of Angel, than on Buffy

Amy, I never watched Buffy either and have really been thinking about watching all the seasons myself.  I noticed when I was reading The Demon King and I that the writer had written a book about Joss Whedon, so it made me remember that I was probably missing out.

I have the entire Buffy series & 2 seasons of Angel. I LOVE Buffy, it was one of the greatest shows ever! :)

Joss was quite clear that Buffy was a metaphor for high school and teen life.  That it wasn't about vampires but about life and choices.  It shows in the writing.  And that makes it so great and so universal.

Thanks for your input folks!  I like the show so far.  I'm not sure what to make of Giles, but, I really am enjoying the show, I just get annoyed sometimes with unrequited love!

Love is requited all over the place in Buffy over the seasons, don't worry ;)  Keep watching.  I thought the show got better and better until about half way through the seventh season, which got great again at the very end.  I enjoyed the Angel series, but not as much as Buffy until I watched with through with my husband.  He would laugh so hard during Angel, I couldn't help but like it even more  :)

For anyone who misses the Buffyverse stories, try some of the novels and comics!  Both Buffy and Angel have new "seasons" in comic form right now.

Right there with you Ashley!  I'm amazed.  Absolutely the best show ever.  Not as big a fan of Angel...the show, not the character.  And the Buffy Angel tension is what makes the show the 1st few seasons!

Good to know its worth continuing to watch!  Right now Hulu has seasons 1 - 3 so I may have to visit my library after that!
