I really enjoyed this book. It was quite well written and a lovely story. I did find that I liked listening to the audio book better than reading it. The narrator in the audio version just had a perfect way of transporting me there. The characters were awesome even though Elisabeth got on my nerves from time to time. She did come around in the end though. I also made sure I skipped the author's comments at the end. From reading other reviews, I didn't want any kind of political message possibly ruining the book for me.

*** Book Report ***
Just finished our book club choice The Ragged Edge of Night by Olivia Hawker. We had also read One for the Blackbird One for the Crow by her. This is a World War II story based on facts about her husband's grandfather and his exploits trying to outwit the army during Hitler's regime in Germany. It's frightening because it parallels a lot of what is happening nowadays. I loved the sense of family and community in the story.
