A very different book by Sandra Brown, but also very moving. This book is different from what she has been writing for the past 20 years. She was unsure how it would be accepted by her fans. I not only accepted it, I loved it! It shows she is an excellent storyteller.

A very different venue for a love story from Sandra Brown. She deals with several subjects in the book - the Depression, racial prejudice and autism among them -- in a very caring and compassionate way. A good book which I really enjoyed.

Not at all like Sandra Brown's other books of romance and intrigue, which I absolutely love. Another I'll add to my keeper shelf. I loved it!

Sandra Brown is one of my favorite authors. I was hesitant at first to read this book since it is different from what she usually writes. But I'm glad I read it. I learned a few things reading this book.

Very good reading. Sort of a surprise ending. Kept my interest all the way thru. Hated to put it down.

A bit of a departure for Sandra Brown. I liked the way it ended. I liked the characters. A period in American history that is shown here not chosen very often but one I like.

Good book! Not the usual Sandra Brown novel. An example of neighbors coming together during hard times and standing up for their convictions. Heart felt and true love enduring.
