Very well written memoir about a black man growing up in a world without a father - and trying desperately to be a good man. Datcher is a poet, and many of his poems are included - and they are very well written. Overall, a great, uplifting read.

This is one of the most beautifully written books I've ever read. Mr. Datcher has written his story extremely well, and in such a way that you keep wanting to know more.

I really enjoyed this memoir. It gave me a deeper look into what a lot of Black men go through in childhood, adulthood and all. It's also a love story. I even cried at certain parts.

I really enjoyed this book and each stage of the process and how it lead back to his bloodline! But, the CYCLE was broken!
