I like william Least Heat-Moon. I found the idea of this book interesting, but I found it a little teadious to read.

This account of an Atlantic-to-Pacific voyage over American waterways would have benefitted from some trimming. Overlong, festooned with ten-dollar words where fify-centers would have served as well, it's a mildly interesting read.

I'm not a real fan of travelogues but the humor and personalities of this book are charming. A must read for anyone interested in the breadth, freedom and joy of America.
As fascinating as Heat-Moon's Blue Highways saga. Makes you want to travel the USA and relive his experiences.
The author of the acclaimed memoir, Blue Highways, travels across the U.S., from the Hudson River to the Pacific Ocean, by small boat, meeting people and having adventures along the way. 502 pp.
