Overview of the brain's role in our behavior from the mid-1970s. Lots of new information since then, but this is a nice primer on the mechanics of how we process information and how our behavior is formed. The writing is intelligent, but not overly technical, and there are lots of examples - always helpful to me in understanding abstract explanations.
